The U.K. and Ireland box office chart for the weekend of October 23 to 25 was led by a British horror-comedy rather than a major studio blockbuster. Lionsgate U.K.'s 'Ghosts: The Possession of Button House' opened at No. 1, generating £2.4 million, which equates to $3.2 million.

Warner Bros.' DC horror thriller 'Clayface' debuted in second position with $2.6 million. Amazon MGM Studios' comedy 'Ali G: Who Iz I?' held the third spot, earning $1.7 million in its first three days. Black Bear's animated fantasy 'Wildwood,' directed by Travis Knight, finished fourth with $1.36 million.

Paramount's 'Street Fighter' dropped to fifth place in its second weekend, adding $1.35 million to reach a total gross of $5.6 million. Universal's 'Forgotten Island' placed sixth, collecting $1.2 million for a cumulative total of $3.7 million. Sony's psychological thriller 'Verity' sat in seventh position in its fourth week, adding $857,067 to its running total of $14.4 million.

Universal's 'Other Mommy' took eighth place with $576,822, bringing its total to $6.2 million. Mubi's 'Fatherland' entered the chart at No. 9, earning $264,083 from 86 locations. That session produced a screen average of $3,144, the fourth highest among new releases. Including previews, the film's opening total reached $415,017, surpassing Pawel Pawlikowski's previous best in the territory.

Studiocanal's 'Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom' rounded out the top 10 in its sixth week, collecting $408,089 for a total of $6.1 million. Mubi's documentary 'Making Marie Antoinette' opened on six screens, taking $1,737 for a cumulative total of $24,355.

The documentary release marks the start of a staggered rollout ahead of Park Circus's re-release of Sofia Coppola's 2006 film on November 13. Mid-week event programming began on Tuesday with the Royal Ballet's 'Manon' and continued on Wednesday with the 'Ozzy & Black Sabbath' documentary across more than 100 locations.

Wide commercial releases arrived on Friday across more than 300 locations. The slate included Disney's 'Everest: The Other Side,' A24's 'Primetime,' Black Bear's 'Wicker,' and Kaleidoscope Entertainment's 'Arnie & Barney.' Universal released 'I Love Boosters,' while Action Xtreme distributed 'Bad Day at the Office' on more than 100 screens. The weekend concluded on Saturday with a live viewing of the BTS World Tour in Sao Paulo.
